The Arabic Keyboard (thearabickeyboard.com) is an independent online tool that makes it easy to type in Arabic — and other languages — from any device, without installing software or changing your system settings. This page explains who we are, what we built, and the principles behind it.

Our mission

Millions of people need to write in Arabic occasionally — students, teachers, travellers, translators, and anyone messaging family or studying the language — but don’t have an Arabic keyboard on their device. Existing tools are often slow, cluttered with ads, or missing the features people actually need. Our mission is simple: a fast, clean, genuinely helpful online Arabic keyboard that just works, on any computer or phone, for free.

What our keyboard does

We’ve grown the tool well beyond a basic on-screen keyboard. It offers three ways to type Arabic in one place:

  • On-screen keyboard — click or tap the Arabic letters with a mouse or finger.
  • Your own keyboard — your physical keys are mapped to the standard Arabic (101) layout, so you can touch-type even on a keyboard with no Arabic letters printed on it.
  • Transliteration — write the sound in Latin letters (for example salam → سلام) and it becomes Arabic automatically.

It also includes Tashkeel (diacritics), Eastern Arabic numerals, one-click copy, save, translate, text-to-speech and dark mode. Beyond Arabic, we offer a French interface (clavier arabe) and a Chinese Pinyin keyboard.

What we stand for

  • Private by design. The keyboard runs entirely in your browser. Your text is never sent to our servers — see our Privacy Policy.
  • Fast and lightweight. No heavy scripts, no clutter — so it loads quickly and works smoothly even on older phones.
  • Genuinely useful. Alongside the tool, we publish clear, practical guides about keyboards and typing, written to actually help rather than just fill a page.

How we keep it free

The Service is free to use. We cover our costs with unobtrusive advertising placed around our content, never inside the typing area, so the keyboard itself stays clean and distraction-free.

Get in touch

We’re always improving the tool, and feedback from real users shapes what we build next. If you have a suggestion, found a bug, or want to reach us for any reason, please visit our contact page.
